When she was a child, she used to go out quietly behind her parents' back and run into the forest to play and dance. The small animals around her would not run away when they saw her, but chirped around her as if they were cheering for her. Yang Liping was the oldest in her family, and for a long time, she was her parents' favorite little princess. However, due to Yang Liping's parents' incompatible personalities, they often broke out in heated arguments at home and also had cold wars from time to time.
But the "war" between her parents didn't affect Yang Liping, who was still the apple of her parents' eye.
In October 1971, the Xishuangbanna Song and Dance Troupe came to Eryuan County to select young, talented dancers. Encouraged by the uncles and aunts around her, Yang Liping, who had never attended any dance classes, plucked up the courage to enroll.
Later, at the age of 13, Yang Liping beat out many of her peers who had received professional dance training and successfully entered the Xishuangbanna Song and Dance Troupe. Here, she received very professional dance training. Although the training after entering the troupe was very hard, not only to carry out a lot of basic training but also pay attention to diet, but Yang Liping still gritted her teeth and insisted on it. She knows that the training is worthwhile, and that only by practicing the basics can she produce better dances.
Yang Liping's Development
In May 1979, at the age of 21, Yang Liping finally had her own opportunity. The Xishuangbanna Song and Dance Troupe decided to cast Yang Liping as the star of a large-scale folk dance drama, Princess Peacock, for a professional dance competition in Yunnan Province. On the stage, Yang Liping wore a peacock dress, elegant posture, dancing, every move can make people feel the beauty of nature. It was as if she was a genie of nature that had accidentally fallen to earth.
The dance performance was very successful, not only won the first prize of the tournament, the "Peacock Princess" fell into the earth also left a deep impression on the judges and the audience. With this dance, Yang Liping was recognized by the Central Nationalities Song and Dance Troupe, and in February 1980, she was transferred to the Central Nationalities Song and Dance Troupe.
Yang Liping not only has excellent dancing talent, but also very hard-working, never complained during the training, and never tired. Soon, Yang Liping became a pillar of the Central Nationalities Song and Dance Troupe, and in August 1986, she choreographed and performed the female solo dance "The Spirit of the Sparrow," which attracted a lot of attention when it was first performed.
On the stage, Yang Liping wore a long dress as white as snow, and brought all the audience into the world of dance with her flexible fingers, soft waist and light steps. She put the unearthly, noble and elegant peacock posture to show the best, for a moment, Yang Liping harvested a lot of flowers and applause, she was also selected by the Beijing Daily as one of the top ten news people in 1988.
