"Yimeng Mountain Ditty" is a classic folk song from Shandong Province, belonging to the ditty. It was born in Baishiyu Village, Xuezhuang Town, Feixian County, at the foot of Wanghai Lou, Yimeng Mountain, Linyi, Shandong Province. Its predecessor was "Against the Yellow Sand Meeting", which was collected and composed by Li Lin and Ruan Ruoshan, members of the Anti-University Literary Troupe based in the Yimeng Mountain area, in 1940.
"Yimeng Mountain Ditty" originated from the flower-drum tunes of the Yimeng Mountain area. In the fall of 1953, Li Guangzong, deputy director of the Cultural and Industrial Troupe of the Political Department of the Shandong Military Region, Wang Yinquan, head of the research group, and Li Ruiyun, leader of the band, re-modified the notation to change the theme of anti-Japanese resistance in the original lyrics to that of glorifying the hometown, and then continued to add two more lyrics to it, which was titled "Yimeng Mountain Ditty," and from then on, an official version of the Yimeng Mountain Ditty was born.
"Yimeng Mountain Ditty" is the official version of the song.
"Yimeng Mountain Ditty" and "Jasmine Flower" have been recognized by UNESCO as two of the most representative folk songs in China, and have become famous both at home and abroad; Yimeng's beautiful scenery has also gradually seeped into people's minds, and has become the theme image of the Yimeng land.
