Aegean Sea is a big bay in the eastern Mediterranean, a part of the Mediterranean, located between the Greek Peninsula and Asia Minor Peninsula. It is 6 10 km long from north to south and 300 km wide from east to west. The northeastern Aegean Sea is connected with Marmarahy through the Da Daniil Strait. Most of the islands belong to Greece on the west coast, and a few belong to Turkey on the east coast. The largest island in the sea is called Crete, with an area of about 8,300 square kilometers. Long and narrow from east to west, it is the barrier of the South Aegean Sea.
In the Aegean Sea, the distance between adjacent islands is very short. Standing on an island, you can clearly see the opposite island. The coastline is very tortuous, with many harbors and scattered islands. Aegean Sea is the only water area leading to the Mediterranean Sea, Atlantic Ocean and Indian Ocean by countries along the Black Sea, and it has an important shipping and strategic position.
