Song Review of "South Flight of Geese"

The melody of this song appears three times throughout the movie. The first time, in the opening credits, the harp leads to the first lyric-less soprano solo, which is accompanied by images of the hero trekking through the ice and snow, showing the chanting style of the song as a celebration of the hero's resilience.

The second time in the second half of the film, Yu Zhen heard the old people talking about her marriage, shyly bowed her head, the music appeared, the camera shifted to the red leaves, springs, the sky, the evening sun, and other colorful natural scenery, alluding to the heroine's longing for a better life in the future, and set off her mood.

The third time, at the end of the movie, is the singing of a song with lyrics that expresses well the separate state of mind of the hero and heroine. The song absorbed the flavor of northeastern folk songs, but also close to the modern style of lyric songs, both singing the hero indomitable and perseverance, but also show the hero and heroine of the longing for light and happiness. The song is moving and melodious.
