Common social dances

Ballroom dancing is also known as ballroom dancing, party dancing, social dancing. National standard dance, the full name is the international standard ballroom dance (International Ballroom dancing). It comes from the folk dances of various countries, and is developed and evolved on the basis of ancient folk dances. Let me tell you some common ballroom dances.

Common Ballroom Dance 1: Slow Three

Slow Three (Waltz) Slow three is a three-step, three-step, as the name suggests, that is, three beats per measure. The accent is on the first beat, the last two beats are weak, and the rhythm is "strong, weak, weak". As we said, when a man invites his female partner, he sets up his dance posture, the male partner advances on his left foot, the female partner steps back on her right foot, so in the slow triple, for the man, the accent is on the left foot in the first measure, then in the second measure the accent is on the right foot, and from then on, the accent is on the left and right feet alternately. For the women, the accent is on the right foot in the first measure, then on the left foot in the second measure, and so on. This is a very clear difference from Slow 4.

The simplest step in Slow 3 is the straight step, which beginners often think of as a dance, so they don't know where to put their feet, but it's actually similar to walking, with the addition of understanding the music. For slow three, we say that the first beat is the heavy beat and the steps should be bigger, the second and third beats are the weak beats, and the steps should be adjusted. The man's foot should be straight forward, some beginners are afraid of stepping on their partner's foot, and their foot steps to the side, which is not in line with the slow trio, and also looks unattractive. In fact, as long as both men and women move forward or backward at the same time in rhythm with the music, they will not step on each other's feet. The inside spin in the slow three is also one of the basic steps, and the male steps are the same, except that the male partner steps out with his left foot first, and the female partner steps back with her right foot first. First, the woman retreated her right foot, the male partner put his left foot between the woman's two feet, at this time, the male partner's left foot as the axis, the woman's right foot as the axis, after 180 degrees of rotation, the male partner retreated his right foot, the woman advanced her left foot, this is the second beat.

On the last beat, the male partner steps back with his left foot to the left of his right foot, and the female partner advances with her right foot to the right of her left foot, and the two dance in a closed position. Note that after 180 degrees of rotation, in order to maintain the direction of the dance line, the male partner should step back in future dances, and if he wants to return to the original position, he should rotate 180 degrees again. The male partner should step back with his right foot and the female partner should step forward with her left foot. .... Same as before.

Common Ballroom Dance 2: Slow 4

Same as Slow 3, from its name we can think of, the rhythm of Slow 4 is four beats to a bar, and its accent is one, three beats, or the first beat. Unlike the slow three, where the accent is on the first beat, which rotates between the left and right foot because it is an odd numbered beat, the slow four is different because it is an even numbered beat, where the accent is always on the left foot, which is of course the case for boys, but always on the right foot for girls. There are two basic ways to dance the slow four, one is to dance at equal intervals, and the other is to dance two slow and two fast, no matter which way to dance, the principle to follow should be: the slow four is a kind of slow rhythmic dance, and the performance should be calm and graceful. Unlike the slow three, the slow four's undulation is not obvious, can be said to be no, and four beats a bar, for the rotation, obviously than the slow three to be able to handle. In general, the slow four is much easier to dance than the slow three. That's why there are more slow fours than slow threes at dance parties, and most of them are slow fours. When the slow 4 is slower, we can use the equal interval method, according to the rhythm of the dance, four beats a bar, each bar step, as for the dance posture, etc., are the same as the slow 3, when walking straight, the first two beats can not be bigger, the last two beats to adjust. Note that for boys, the emphasis is always on the left foot (girls on the right). (Girls on the right foot) When the tempo of the dance music is a little faster, you can use two slow and two fast dance method, that is, "slow-slow-fast-fast" slow beat contains two beats of the dance music, fast beat contains one beat. In this way, a measure actually contains six beats. Beginners can dance the first slow four, easy to learn and good to dance. Of course, the second way is more rhythmic and has more patterns. Slow four is to see the power of the dance, masters can show the "butterfly flying" mood.

Common Social Dance 3: Rumba

Social Rumba although inherited from the national standard dance dance jumping and lingering dance style, but from the dance, dance steps, and the national standard Rumba is completely different. Social Rumba dance posture and the same as the sailor, the basic dance step is very special, is to use the hips to drive the thighs to move sideways, in the process of a bar four beats, the crotch is exactly in the vertical plane to draw a good 8 son. It's hard to get used to Rumba because it's different from other ballroom dances, but if you practice hard, you'll be able to feel the flavor of Rumba after a few months.

Common Social Dance 4: Tango

With the evolution of time and the practice of the masses, the flavor of the social tango is far less than the flavor of the national standard, but nevertheless, watching the social tango, you can still see the powerful, staccato style. The steps of the social tango are somewhat like those of the slow four. But it is not as smooth and angular as the slow four. The emphasis is on the two slow and two fast. Tango is a dance that shows masculinity.
