Climatic Characteristics of Qionghai
Qionghai belongs to the northern edge of the tropical monsoon climate zone, which is influenced by the monsoon winds, with plenty of sunshine, high temperature and rainy weather, frequent typhoons, and the four seasons are not obvious, with the dry season and the rainy season being distinct.
The dry season, generally occurring from December to April. The average monthly rainfall is 67 millimeters, with a minimum of 39.2 millimeters in January, totaling 335.8 millimeters. This represents only 16.4% of the annual average rainfall of 2042.6 mm. The most rainfall in the dry season was 576 mm in 1953 and the least rainfall was 121 mm in 1955.
The rainy season, occurs from May to November. The average monthly rainfall is 243.8 millimeters, with a maximum of 388.3 millimeters in September, totaling 1,706.8 millimeters, or 83.6% of the average annual rainfall. The total rainfall of 1706.8 mm, or 83.6% of the average annual rainfall, was 678.8 mm in August and September, accounting for 33.1% of the average annual rainfall, which is twice as much as in the dry season.
The four seasons show little change in temperature, with the coldest winter (December to February) being between 3.8 and 6.0 degrees Celsius lower than the average annual temperature of 24 degrees Celsius. Under the influence of cold air, there are occasional low-temperature rainy weather, occasionally cold, but the extreme low-temperature days are above 5.0 ℃, and the time is short, not many times. Spring (March to May) temperature rebound quickly, the average monthly temperature of 24.9 ℃. During the spring equinox to Ching Ming, there are three or five days of low temperature and rainy weather, commonly known as "Ching Ming wind". 27.5 ℃ in May, the temperature rises, the beginning of high temperature weather. Summer (June to August) for the annual high temperature season, the average monthly temperature of 27.9 ℃, the hottest July average temperature of 28.2 ℃, 4.2 ℃ higher than the average annual temperature, extreme high temperature day of 39.8 ℃, occasional "hot and dry winds" appeared in August typhoons, rainstorms increased, the temperature dropped slightly. In the fall (September to November), typhoons and rainstorms are frequent, and the average monthly temperature drops to 24.2℃. Before and after the cold dew, the weather becomes cooler, sometimes three or five days of cold weather, commonly known as "cold dew wind". The average monthly temperature in the fall is similar to that of spring, but the difference is that in the fall, the temperature shifts from hot and rainy to cold and less rainy, while in the spring, it is the opposite.
The high temperatures and rainfall throughout the year create good growing conditions for crops. However, the unfavorable factor is that the uneven distribution of rainfall, prone to drought and flooding; coupled with wind damage (Qingming wind, dry and hot winds, typhoons, cold dew winds), cold damage (low-temperature cloudy rain) and other disasters, to the crops to a certain extent.
Geology of Qionghai
Geology
Qionghai is located in the eastern part of the Indo-Chinese Rise in Hainan, in the east-west tectonic belt of Changjiang - Qionghai and Qionghai northward rupture belt in the southeast of Qionghai intersect each other parts. The main folds and fractures are:
Gaoming - Jiuqujiang dorsal: distributed in Gaoming to Jiuqujiang, stratigraphy for the Ordovician - Silurian composition. It is a long strip, the axis of the backslope is 60°~70°, and the dip angle of the two flanks is about 60°. It is characterized by tight linear folds.
Shangcun - ringing ditch oblique: distributed in the Shangcun to ringing ditch area, composed of Carboniferous a Permian, axis 45 °, the south east wing dip angle of 48 °, the north west wing of 50 °, is a linear fold.
Wanling - Shanxinling Syncline: distributed in Wanling to Shanxinling, composed of Lower Cretaceous strata, with an axis of 55°, dip angle of 10°-20° on both flanks, and is an open fold.
Changjiang to the county east-west tectonic belt: across the central part of the county. Mainly manifested in the Yangjiang Basin and the granite bodies in the belt as well as the remaining metamorphic blocks, distributed in an east-west direction, and the aeromagnetic anomaly zone in the belt also shows an east-west spread.
Qiongdongnan northward fault zone: the eastern part of the county. The main performance of the Yanshan period from the north and south of the ` granodiorite amphibolite, two long granite and granodiorite porphyry and other rock bodies in the north-south direction, north of the town of Jiaji Quaternary basalt was extended north-south, Dalu, Tayang, Nanshai and other places in the Wanquan River tributaries of the north-south flow direction and the gravity of the two sides of the fracture zone shows the high belt.
Longma - Longjiang Fracture: extends through the Xizai, Longjiang to Wuyuan and other places, the length is greater than 60 kilometers. The strike is 40° in the north-east section and 65°-85° in the south-west section. The fracture cuts the Lower Cretaceous, develops the tectonic breccia belt, and controls the southeast boundary line of the Quaternary basalt being.
Geomorphology
Qionghai is backed by mountains and facing the sea, and the remaining veins of the Mother Ruishan Mountains extend into it from west to east, which constitutes the whole territory's topography tilted from west to east. Wanquan River
Wanquan River used to be called Baiquan River. It is a river in the southeast of Hainan Island, China. There are two sources: the southern branch of the Lehui water as the main stream, 109 kilometers long, originated in Wuzhishan Linbei village south ridge. The northern branch of Ding'an water, originating from the south of Limu Ling. The two waters in Qionghai City, Hekou mouth will be called Wanquan River, through the Jiaji to Boao into the South China Sea. The total length is 163 kilometers, with a watershed area of 3,683 square kilometers. The upper reaches of the river are characterized by high mountains and steep ridges, and it flows through deep valleys. After passing through the mouth of the Hecou, the river channel widens and the water flows gently. The total drop of the river is 523 meters, with a capacity of 263,000 kilowatts.
