Dalian has about 102 squares, the most in the country, and Xinghai Square can hold 440,000 people dancing together.
Xinghai Square, located in Shahekou District, Dalian, Liaoning Province, China, is an open-air square in the southwest of Dalian, a major construction project commemorating the return of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to China, and one of the landmarks of Dalian.
Star Ocean Plaza was built on July 16, 1993; it was put into use on June 30, 1997; and on December 18, 2018, it underwent a lighting project. As of April 2019, Xinghai Square covers a total area of 1.76 million square meters.
The red marble composition of the center of the periphery decorated with a large yellow five-pointed star, and the Yellow Sea to the north of the Xinghai Plaza to form a kind of stars and the sea reflecting the scene, used to symbolize the location of the "Star Bay", but also red and yellow color to symbolize the yellow and yellow descendants.
Design Features
Star Ocean Plaza uses a curved style, in the elliptical road network set with a circle, in which the inner circle diameter of 199.9 meters, meaning the 100th anniversary of Dalian in 1999, and the outer circle diameter of 239.9 meters, meaning that Dalian will usher in the 500th anniversary of the founding of the city of Dalian in the year 2399; the central star-shaped plaza is an elevated circular square with three steps on the ground.
The layout of the center part of the design concept borrowed from the Temple of Heaven in Beijing Huanqiu, by nine hundred and ninety-nine pieces of Sichuan red marble pavement, marble were carved with the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches, the twenty-four seasons, twelve zodiac and other motifs, and carving of the nine tripods of different shapes, each tripod each has a WeiBei body of the word, **** with the composition of the "Chinese Nation Long live the unity of the Chinese nation" nine big words.
