How to Cultivate Students' Healthy Psychology in English Class

Modern society is a world full of competition and fast pace. In the final analysis, all kinds of competitions are talent competitions, and society requires every member to have strong adaptability and adaptability. Therefore, cultivating students' healthy psychology and sound personality is an important aspect of improving students' comprehensive quality. As a modern English teacher, we can't just regard English class as a classroom to impart English knowledge, and regard psychological education as the responsibility of the class teacher. Instead, we should integrate psychological education into English teaching, develop students' good personality, form students' sound personality, keep students in a positive and healthy psychological state, improve students' comprehensive quality and ability, and make students better participate in English knowledge learning.

First, let students learn to respect others and cultivate good feelings.

People's emotions play a very important role in work and study. Einstein said: "Intellectual achievement depends on the greatness of emotion, and the greatness of emotion is often beyond people's understanding." Emotion is the catalyst of students' thinking. Only when driven by healthy emotions can students have fun in English learning. Therefore, it is particularly important to cultivate students' healthy emotions. First of all, teachers should respect and care for students, take the initiative to understand and be close to students, be intimate friends of students, protect the self-esteem of students with poor learning ability, establish a harmonious relationship between teachers and students, and let teachers' healthy emotions subtly infect students. Secondly, teachers should educate and respect students, especially in the process of reading, dialogue and performance by other students, but also respect others, be good at listening and watching other students' speeches and performances, and attach importance to emotional communication between students. In addition, creating a good classroom atmosphere can affect students' learning effect. The design of junior high school English textbooks is close to students' life. We can create situations in the classroom and use various teaching methods to stimulate students' interest in learning English, so that students can learn English well in a relaxed and lively atmosphere, so that students can change "I want to learn" into "I want to learn" and cultivate their goodwill.

Second, let students experience success and enhance their self-confidence in learning.

Psychological research shows that almost everyone's success is based on personal confidence. Teachers should stimulate students' self-confidence and give full play to their enthusiasm in teaching. As far as some underachievers are concerned, although they are few in the class, they always think that they can't do it, even if they work hard, they are not as good as others, and they are particularly inferior. In this case, any form of distrust or indifference will hurt their self-esteem and self-confidence. If teachers treat them negatively, it will make them worse and worse. On the contrary, if our teachers can correctly understand and enthusiastically help them, often encourage them and establish their self-confidence, the effect will be very good. As the saying goes, "feet are short, inches are long." These students are definitely better than others in class or after class, and often some strength is the kindling of hope. As teachers, we should have a keen eye, seize their bright spots, give full affirmation and praise, make them realize the joy of success, gain psychological compensation and balance, and inspire their confidence and courage in learning. There is a male student in my class who often doesn't like to raise his hand and is silent. He often makes mistakes in reading words in class and lacks confidence in learning English. But one day I suddenly found that he played basketball very well and was an excellent player in the school. Through talking with him, I learned about the changing process of his playing basketball from poor to good, and I encouraged him to treat English with the spirit of playing basketball. Later, his confidence in learning English was obviously enhanced. I often see him raise his hand in class, with a loud voice and improved academic performance. I feel very gratified.

Third, students are strictly required to develop good study habits.

The cultivation of study habits is very important in English learning, especially for junior high school students. Wei Shusheng said: "The cultivation of habits is often more important than teaching methods and can achieve unexpected results." I put forward strict requirements in listening, speaking, reading and writing: students are required to listen carefully, listen clearly, see the change of mouth shape, and gradually speed up the speech; Guide students to read aloud with emotion and read and speak with correct pronunciation and intonation; Writing requirements should be standardized and neat, punctuation should be correct, teachers should write clearly on the blackboard, and do a good demonstration. In addition, I also ask students to develop the habit of expression when performing dialogues, reciting each text and carefully checking homework and test papers. Ye Shengtao said; "Good habits will benefit people for life", and developing good habits of learning English will benefit students in the future.

Fourth, let students treat setbacks correctly and exercise their strong will.

English learning requires heavy mental work. Only by relying on your tenacious will, making continuous efforts and overcoming all kinds of difficulties can you achieve excellent results. Just started learning English, the knowledge is relatively simple, and the students' interest is relatively strong. However, with the deepening of teaching materials, some students find it difficult to learn, which requires teachers to correct students' learning attitude and cultivate their strong will and perseverance to overcome difficulties. First of all, teachers should pay attention to cultivating students' good learning motivation and establishing correct learning goals. Like Zhou Enlai, we should set up the lofty ideal of "studying for the rise of China"; Shi, since he was a child, he has a belief in life, that is, "to lend a helping hand is to help the world." Secondly, set an example for students. The power of example is infinite. I often tell students some short stories. For example, Zhang Haidi, a paraplegic who is physically disabled and determined, still studies hard. Professor Zhong, the founder of reverse English, succeeded in studying English at the age of 45, inspiring students to study hard. Third, provide students with opportunities to think independently and overcome learning difficulties, so that their willpower can be exercised. For example, I often give students some difficult listening training, reading comprehension and so on. In addition, educate students to treat failure correctly and improve their ability to resist setbacks. Nowadays, most students are only children, and their ability to resist setbacks is relatively weak. When they encounter difficulties in their studies, they lose confidence in their studies. I encouraged them with the motto "Failure is the mother of success", comforted them with the story of Edison inventing the light bulb for thousands of times, and made them realize that failure is not terrible, and it is normal to fall behind temporarily in their studies. The key is to have a correct learning attitude, find out the reasons why you are lagging behind in your study and take appropriate measures to study.

Fifth, let students learn to cooperate and cultivate interpersonal skills.

2 1 century is an era of fierce competition, which requires social members to have a sense of competition, but more importantly, they need a spirit of cooperation. Nowadays, students always like to be self-centered and don't know how to understand and help others. Therefore, in my teaching, I often let students carry out exchange activities and carry out group cooperative learning. I divide the students into groups, practice reading aloud, acting or making up dialogues, let the students perform on stage and evaluate them. In group activities, students learn from each other, learn from each other's strengths and inspire each other. Students should not only have a good cooperative relationship, but also have a spirit of mutual assistance. Only in this way can the dialogue be completed. In this way, a good interpersonal atmosphere of mutual assistance, mutual encouragement, mutual love and mutual respect is formed among students, the spirit of unity and mutual assistance is cultivated, the positive, democratic and scientific psychological quality of students is developed, and the interpersonal communication ability is improved.

In short, the implementation of psychological education in English teaching plays a vital role in the implementation of quality education, which is conducive to stimulating students' interest and motivation in learning English, forming a good self-concept, cultivating emotions, and thus shaping their own good personality psychology. Students have good psychological quality, lay a solid foundation for learning knowledge and forming ability, and become all-round cross-century talents.
