The Pearl River Crossing will be held on the afternoon of July 18, 2008, which is the 4th year of the Pearl River Crossing. There will be 34 teams *** 1700 participants in this activity. Crossing the Pearl River is a mass sports activity in Guangzhou. The government encourages people to participate in it, so that all people can exercise and keep healthy.
Venue: The starting point is Zhong Da Wharf, and the end point is the north bank of the Pearl River opposite Xinghai Concert Hall (the straight line distance between the two sides is about 450m, and the crossing distance is about 800m).
Scale: 1700 people take part in the tour.
Registration requirements
1. Good health (no heart disease, hypertension, dermatosis and other diseases. Not suitable for high-load sports and swimming).
2. 15-55 years old (born after 64 years 1 month, those who can swim more than 2000m in 80 minutes are preferred).
3. Participants must sign the voluntary declaration of participants. If they are under 18, they need the signature of their guardian.

The theme of this year's Pearl River Crossing is "Fitness for All, Health for All", and registration will continue to be open to the public. Nearly 4000 citizens actively participated in the registration within one week. After the swimming skills and physical fitness tests of the organizing committee, nearly 1700 people were selected to form 34 teams to participate in this year's swimming activities. Among them, there are both "loyal fans" who have participated for many years in a row and "newcomers" who have participated for the first time. The age difference ranges from 15 to 55.
Crossing the Pearl River is a large-scale mass water activity. In order to ensure the safety of swimmers, the organizing Committee will distribute life-saving equipment. During the crossing of the Pearl River, 56 emergency rescue lifeboats were deployed on the river, each equipped with two professional lifeguards and life-saving equipment. The water emergency rescue work is centered on the waterway and divided into four areas in the form of grid. There are 9 rescue groups on the east and west sides of the river, 1 12 lifeguards. At the same time, professional lifeguards from Guangdong Red Cross Society were hired to assist in life-saving work. In order to ensure the smooth holding of the event, a drill will be held the day before to comprehensively check the implementation and overall operation of all departments of the Organizing Committee.
