Ichthyosis is a hereditary lifelong skin disease, which will occur at birth or at a young age. Due to abnormal skin keratinization, patients will have fish-scale scales. Ichthyosis has many different manifestations. Dry skin, especially in winter, may have tiny scales, also known as xeroderma. The typical performance is the appearance of light brown, or dark brown scales or polygonal scales. Scales should be attached to the middle skin and the edges should be tilted.
