What kind of environment is ginkgo suitable for growth?

Ginkgo biloba is widely distributed in south subtropical zone to warm temperate zone in China, and has great adaptability to temperature. Generally speaking, it can be planted in areas where the annual average temperature is 8 ~ 20℃. In winter, it can endure the low temperature of -20℃ without freezing injury, and in summer, it can resist the high temperature of 40℃ without sunburn. Ginkgo biloba is a positive tree species, which likes light and is not tolerant to shade. If the light is insufficient, the growth and development of branches are often not full, the flower bud differentiation is poor, the seed quality is poor, and the yield is low. Ginkgo biloba is a deep-rooted tree species with strong drought resistance, but not waterlogging tolerance. If the groundwater level exceeds 1 m or the soil is wet for a long time, the root system will often rot completely, and the leaves will wither, turn yellow and fall off, leading to poor growth and eventually death. Ginkgo biloba has a huge root system and a wide range of water and fertilizer absorption. Therefore, the choice of soil is not strict, whether it is acidic soil, neutral soil or calcareous soil, it can generally grow, but when the soil salt content exceeds 0.3%, the tree is extremely weak, the leaves are thin and small, and the branches are scorched until they die. Ginkgo biloba is most suitable for growing in soil with pH value of 5.5 ~ 7.5 and soil depth of more than 2 meters.
