Secondly, high myopia can cause many eye complications, mainly in the following categories:
1, posterior scleral staphyloma: the incidence was 77. 1%. The main manifestations are posterior pole expansion of eyeball, degeneration and atrophy of optic nerve and retina around macula, and decreased corrected vision. The higher the myopia, the higher the incidence of posterior scleral staphyloma.
2. Retinal atrophy, hemorrhage and retinal breaks: Patients with high myopia are prone to retinal degeneration and retinal breaks due to factors such as long axial length and posterior scleral staphyloma, causing hemorrhage and retinal detachment, leading to blindness.
3. subretinal neovascularization: the incidence rate is 5%-40%. It is characterized by subretinal neovascularization in the posterior pole, which causes bleeding and affects vision.
4, retinal detachment, cataract, glaucoma: due to scleral dilatation and retinal degeneration, the probability of retinal detachment in patients with high myopia is 7-8 times that of patients with non-high myopia. The probability of high myopia complicated with cataract and glaucoma is also higher than that of normal people.
5, floaters: high myopia can occur real vitreous degeneration or liquefaction, causing obvious floaters. Be aware of the light, sparks, flashes or shadows floating in front of your eyes.

3. Atropine eye drops have a good effect on myopia control, but there are some factors such as photophobia, blurred vision, central toxic effect, myopia rebound after stopping taking drugs, etc., and it has not been approved for myopia control in clinic.
