Classification of contacts in COVID-19

Novel coronavirus's contact classification includes confirmed patients, suspected patients, patients with possible fever, and close contacts of confirmed patients.

During the epidemic period, all entry-exit personnel in China must make health declaration and receive body temperature screening. Epidemiological investigation, medical investigation and laboratory test shall be carried out for those who have symptoms or come from countries or regions with serious epidemic situation, or who have been exposed to confirmed cases or suspected cases. Confirmed cases, suspected cases, symptomatic persons and close contacts shall be transported, isolated and observed in accordance with relevant regulations.

The customs implements quarantine measures of three inspections, three rows and one transfer for all entry-exit personnel. Three tests refer to 100% health declaration, comprehensive temperature monitoring and screening, and strict medical examination. The third row is for people who have symptoms, come from countries or regions with severe epidemics, or have had contact with confirmed cases or suspected cases, and strictly carry out epidemiological investigations, medical investigations and laboratory tests. After transshipment, the confirmed cases, suspected cases, symptomatic persons and close contacts judged in the third row shall be transported, isolated and observed in accordance with relevant regulations.

People's Republic of China (PRC) Law on the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Article 9 The State supports and encourages units and individuals to participate in the prevention and control of infectious diseases. People's governments at all levels should improve the relevant systems to facilitate units and individuals to participate in publicity and education, epidemic report, voluntary service and donation activities for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases.

Residents' committees and villagers' committees shall organize residents and villagers to participate in the prevention and control of infectious diseases in communities and rural areas.

Article 10 The State shall carry out health education on the prevention of infectious diseases. The news media should carry out public welfare propaganda for the prevention and control of infectious diseases and public health education free of charge.

Schools at all levels and types should educate students on health knowledge and prevention of infectious diseases.

Medical colleges and universities should strengthen preventive medicine education and scientific research, provide preventive medicine education and training for students and other personnel related to the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, and provide technical support for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases.

Disease prevention and control institutions and medical institutions shall regularly train their staff in the knowledge and skills of infectious disease prevention and control.
