What should I pay attention to when doing thyroid puncture?

1. Before puncture, it is generally necessary to check the blood routine, coagulation time and thyroid function, and make clear whether there is a tendency of bleeding before thyroid puncture.

2. It is best to wear low-necked clothes on the day of puncture. Because the doctor needs to puncture the neck with B-ultrasound guidance, the neckline is too high, which hinders the doctor's operation.

3. Some anesthetic will be injected locally during puncture, and there will be no feeling during puncture. Don't be afraid when stabbing, just don't cough, don't swallow your saliva and don't talk casually. Coughing, swallowing and talking will cause the puncture needle to move.

4. Each suspected nodule needs to be punctured with 2-3 needles, and the aspiration fluid is punctured for cytological smear;

5. After the puncture, remember to press the puncture point for 20 minutes and rest for 30 minutes before leaving to prevent discomfort.

6. Don't touch the water at the puncture point the night after puncture, and you can take a bath normally the next day.

7. Pay attention to the neck condition after puncture. If the neck is getting swollen, it means that there may be internal bleeding at the puncture site. Need to go to the hospital immediately to prevent the hematoma from compressing the airway and causing suffocation.
