When I get old, my parents will be "big dolls" too. Drinking milk powder has become an excellent way to supplement nutrition.
However, is high calcium, low fat and high protein a good milk powder? In fact, to choose a really good milk powder is far more than these characteristics.
From June, 2065438 to June, 2009, Xiao Daochang collected 9 kinds of hot-selling middle-aged and elderly formula milk powder and sent it to an authoritative third-party testing institution for testing. ?
Go home often to see which milk powder to bring. Let's watch the report together!
Evaluate products
evaluating indicator
Protein: Milk protein is of high quality.
Casein: a kind of milk protein that is difficult for middle-aged and elderly people to digest.
Fat: Milk fat contains saturated fatty acids, which is not conducive to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
Unsaturated fatty acid: a "good" fatty acid. Adding vegetable oil can adjust the composition of fatty acids in milk.
Lactose: Lactase that does not decompose it will be fermented by bacteria to produce gas, causing flatulence and diarrhea.
Calcium: one of the main components of bones, preventing osteoporosis.
Calcium-phosphorus ratio: When the dietary calcium-phosphorus ratio is 1: 1~2: 1, calcium absorption is ideal.
Diethylstilbestrol: Exogenous sex hormone in milk.
Pick a small coup
The main principles of choosing a good milk powder are: high protein and low casein, low fat and high unsaturated fatty acid, low lactose and high calcium, and appropriate calcium-phosphorus ratio.
Look at the test results first.
1, Nestle, Yili and Mengniu have relatively balanced nutritional indicators, with excellent CCR scores of 8.6, 8.5 and 8.4 respectively.
2. Wandashan is at the bottom because of its low content of protein and high proportion of indigestible casein, with CCR score of 7.9; Because flying cranes have more fat and lactose, the CCR score is 7.9.
No exogenous sex hormone diethylstilbestrol was detected in 3 and 9 products, indicating that the formula milk powder is safe.
Protein: Anyi performed well. Wandashan is almost an indigestible protein.
Milk protein is a high-quality protein. Generally speaking, the higher the content of protein, the better the nutrition (quality) of milk. But judging the nutritional value of milk powder depends on the composition of protein besides the content of protein.
Milk protein is mainly casein and whey protein. Casein is not easily digested by middle-aged and elderly people, while whey protein is relatively easy to digest.
But in the protein of milk itself, casein accounts for about 80%, which is about 4 times of whey protein. Therefore, one of the design principles of formula milk powder for middle-aged and elderly people is to reduce casein and increase whey protein, so as to improve the digestibility and avoid the waste caused by undigested milk powder in protein.
It was found that Dutch dairy cows and Nestle had the highest protein content, both of which were 22g/100g. Anyi, Yili, Mengniu and He Fei followed closely, with 2 1.3, 19.5, 19.4, 19g/ 100g respectively.
Wandashan is the lowest, only 16.8g/ 100g, which is only 0.3g/ 100g higher than the minimum content in protein stipulated by national standards.
In terms of casein, Anyi, Mengniu and Dutch cows were lower, accounting for 4.7, 8, 9.3g/ 100g, respectively, accounting for 22. 1%, 4 1.8% and 42.3% of white matter.
The casein content of Wandashan is the highest, reaching 16.5g/ 100g, accounting for more than 98% of its protein content (16.8/ 100g), which means almost all of it is indigestible protein.
On the whole, the content of Anyi protein is high and the proportion of casein is low, so it is easier to digest. Wandashan not only has the lowest content of protein, but also is almost casein with poor digestibility.
Fat article: Light and Anyi are two "extremes", and Yili is the mean.
Excessive fat intake in middle-aged and elderly people can easily lead to elevated blood lipids and coronary atherosclerosis. Therefore, another principle of choosing middle-aged and elderly formula milk powder is low fat.
The acceptable range of daily fat intake for middle-aged and elderly people over 50 years old is 20%~30% of total energy. According to the energy calculation of 2000KCal, it is acceptable for middle-aged and elderly people to consume 44~67g of fat every day.
However, is low fat enough? Obviously not, because there are "good and bad points" in fat.
Excessive intake of saturated fatty acids is the main reason for the increase of bad cholesterol, while unsaturated fatty acids can slow down the occurrence of coronary heart disease, arteriosclerosis and other diseases. However, milk fat contains more saturated fatty acids.
Therefore, vegetable oil is added to many middle-aged and elderly formula milk powder to adjust the ratio of these two fatty acids to ensure low fat and high unsaturated fatty acid content.
It was found that the content of Anyi was only 2.8g/ 100g, which was the only low-fat milk powder (fat ≤3g/ 100g).
The fat content of the other eight kinds of milk powder is between 5.9-24. 1g/ 100g, of which Guangming reaches 24.1g/100g, and each cup (25g) can eat 6g of fat, which is about100g of the appropriate daily intake.
In unsaturated fatty acids, the result is just the opposite. Anyi is only 0.5g/ 100g, and the intake of unsaturated fatty acids in one cup is about 0. 1g; Guangming is as high as 7.7g/ 100g, and a cup can take in about 2g of unsaturated fatty acids, which is 20 times that of Anyi.
On the whole, Guangming and Anyi are two "extremes", and the content of Yili fat and unsaturated fatty acids is moderate.
Lactose chapter: the lactose content of Dutch dairy cows "exceeds the standard"
After drinking milk, there will be discomfort and diarrhea, which is lactose intolerance.
It is caused by the lack of lactase, which can decompose lactose in milk. Without this lactase, lactose will be fermented by bacteria to produce gas, causing flatulence and diarrhea.
Generally speaking, babies will not lack lactase. However, with the increase of age, lactase will gradually decrease or even disappear, so middle-aged and elderly people have a lot of lactose intolerance, so choose low-lactose milk powder.
Some experts pointed out that even if most healthy adults lack lactase, if they ingest 25g milk powder (lactose 6.3g) every day, they will generally not have the symptoms of lactose intolerance. Clinical studies also show that the maximum tolerance of lactase-deficient healthy adults to lactose is 12g (one-time intake), and such people should avoid taking more than 12g of lactose at a time.
It was found that the lactose content of different formula milk powder was quite different.
Yili is the lowest, only 3 1.2g/ 100g, and the lactose intake of a cup (25g milk powder) is 7.8g, which is more suitable for middle-aged and elderly people who lack lactase or are lactose intolerant.
The lactose content of Dutch dairy cows is as high as 52.4g/ 100g, and each cup can consume 13. 1g lactose, which is higher than the maximum tolerance of lactose intolerant people in clinical research. Consumers should pay attention to selection.
Calcium: Anyi's calcium-phosphorus ratio exceeds the optimal intake ratio.
With the acceleration of bone loss and the aggravation of joint pain, middle-aged and elderly people will inevitably lack calcium. The recommended daily calcium intake of middle-aged and elderly people over 50 years old is 200mg higher than that of young people, reaching 1000mg/ day.
Milk is the best source of calcium for human body, and drinking milk can effectively supplement calcium. According to the standard, as long as the calcium content is ≥240mg/ 100g, it belongs to high calcium milk powder.
Generally speaking, in order to ensure the supply of calcium, middle-aged and elderly people should choose high-calcium milk powder. But simply high calcium does not mean that the calcium absorption rate is higher, and the ratio of calcium to phosphorus is a factor that affects the calcium absorption rate.
For adults, the best ratio of calcium and phosphorus in diet is between 1: 1~2: 1, and the calcium absorption rate will reach a good level. Above or below this range, the absorption rate of calcium is poor.
It was found that the calcium content of nine middle-aged and elderly milk powders was above 240mg/ 100g, all of which were high calcium milk powders.
Anyi has the highest calcium content, reaching 1500mg/ 100g, but the ratio of calcium to phosphorus is 2.3: 1, which exceeds the optimal dietary intake ratio (1.2: 1~2: 1).
The calcium and phosphorus ratios of the other eight milk powders are all in line with the optimal dietary intake ratio, among which Nestle has the highest calcium content, reaching 1280mg/ 100g, while Yili has a lower calcium content, only 700 mg/ 100 g. ..
