Introduction to Ninghai

The historical evolution of Ninghai Ninghai, as its name implies, is a turbulent and quiet bay, a land of joy, tranquility and peace. According to legend, the East China Sea is rough, but the harbor here is calm, hence the name "Ninghai". For thousands of years, the people of Ninghai have lived and worked here. As early as the Neolithic Age, ancestors lived and worked here in Ninghai. In the first year of Taikang in the Western Jin Dynasty (280), the county was established and Ao Bai was established. In the ninth year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty (589), it was abolished and merged into Linhai County.
