How does sw dynamically manage line styles? SolidWorks wire style dynamic management!

SolidWorks abbreviation (SW) is a new generation of mechanical 3D design tool for electrical industry design introduced by Dassault. The Chinese version of SolidWorks adopts a brand-new parallel and serial product development environment and enjoys a 3DCAD model, which is widely used in designing parts, mechanical equipment, medical devices, automobiles, aviation and other industries. SolidWorks can meet the needs of users to directly add various auxiliary plug-ins to the software, connect with various NC programming software, and directly print the model. Regarding the power of solidworks, in fact, I believe that many small partners also have a certain understanding, but for the mastery and use of software, many small partners may still be scratching their heads! It doesn't matter. If you want to learn to use solidworks, you have come to the right place. The rich solidworks quality video course will take you from software foundation to advanced operation.

"SolidWorks Electrical Tips"-Dynamic Management of Wire Styles

First, what is the wire style?

Wire styles are used to manage all wires used in engineering schematic diagrams. Wire styles include not only graphic information (color, width, etc.). ), as well as manufacturing information (cross-sectional area, diameter, etc.). ). Because of this, the software can automatically generate the corresponding wire BOM by drawing wires in the schematic diagram. In addition, wire numbering rules can be set for wire styles, which can effectively manage wires. It can be seen that the wire style is related to the accuracy of materials and the standardization of drawings, so it is particularly important to manage the wire style in a unified way.

Figure 1 line style attribute II. How to manage it

# SOLIDWORKS # Electrical has a good data management mechanism. Most objects such as reports, symbols and equipment models can be managed at the application layer, which can ensure the uniqueness of data. However, wire styles have no information in the application database, so they can only be managed at the engineering level. Below we introduce you to two common management methods.

1, managed by project template

The project template is essentially a compressed project file, and the new project created by the template actually decompresses the project template. Therefore, projects created by users from the same project template will have the same wire style.

Figure 2- Custom Engineering Template Because the engineering template is an engineering compressed file, it cannot be edited and updated directly when the wire style changes. Therefore, if you want to update the wire style, you need to create a new engineering template. Let's introduce another more convenient method of wire style management.

2. Through macro management

We know that the macro in SOLIDWORKSELECTRICAL has the same structure as the project, so it contains wire style information. When the macro is added to the project, the wire style it contains will also be added. Unlike engineering templates, macros can be edited directly, so the wire style can be modified dynamically. Creating wire styles with different purposes in different macros and inserting only the macros needed by the current project at a time brings another benefit, which effectively shields the wire styles not used in the current project and reduces the occurrence of errors from the source.

Thirdly, introduce examples.

1, create a wire style macro.

First, the wire styles are grouped according to the usage, and a wire style macro is created. As shown in Figure 3, the possible wiring modes are divided into four macros, namely, high-voltage wiring mode, control system wiring mode, hydraulic wiring mode and pneumatic wiring mode.

Secondly, create a template without wire style and build a new project from this template. As shown in Figure 4, the macro of strong electric wire style and hydraulic wire style has been inserted in this project.

Figure 4- Add Macro 3 to view the wire style.

As shown in Figure 5, the wire styles contained in the macro will be automatically added to the project.
