The management of medical wastes mainly includes:
1. According to the category of medical wastes, medical wastes shall be separated into packages or containers that comply with the regulations.
2. Before containing medical waste, medical waste packages or containers should be carefully inspected to ensure that there are no breaks, leaks and other defects.
3. Infectious wastes, pathological wastes, injurious wastes, medicinal wastes and chemical wastes cannot be mixed for collection.

Medical wastes are managed in accordance with the national list of hazardous wastes.
Local people's governments at or above the county level shall strengthen the construction of centralized medical waste disposal capacity. The competent departments of health, ecological environment and other departments of the people's governments at or above the county level shall, within their respective areas of responsibility, strengthen the supervision and management of the collection, storage, transportation and disposal of medical waste, and prevent hazards to public health and pollution of the environment.
Medical health institutions should be classified according to the collection of medical waste generated by the unit, to the centralized disposal of medical waste disposal unit. Centralized medical waste disposal unit shall collect, transport and disposal of medical waste in a timely manner.
Medical health institutions and centralized disposal of medical waste units, should take effective measures to prevent the loss of medical waste, leakage, seepage, proliferation.
