In 2011, the per capita disposable income of urban residents in the city was 15,263 yuan, an increase of 17.4% over the previous year; the per capita consumer expenditure of urban residents was 12,014 yuan, an increase of 14.3%. The per capita net income of rural residents was 10,509 yuan, an increase of 37.6%; the Engel coefficient of urban residents was 35.9%.
At the end of 2011, 181,000 people participated in basic pension insurance in the city, an increase of 7,000 over the previous year. 198,000 people participated in unemployment insurance, an increase of 2,000 people. 893,000 people participated in basic medical insurance, an increase of 6,000 people. Among them, there were 465,000 employees, an increase of 35,000; and 127,000 retirees, an increase of 28,000. The number of urban residents receiving minimum subsistence allowance was 103,600, the same as the previous year.
At the end of 2011, there were 3,585 beds in various adoptive social welfare units in the city, with 2,550 adoptees. There are 294 various urban community service facilities. Among them, there is 1 district and county-level service center, 15 township and street service centers, and 109 neighborhood committee community service stations. 42,000 new jobs were created in cities and towns, and 36,000 laid-off and unemployed people were re-employed.
