MP35N alloy is a nonmagnetic nickel-cobalt alloy with strength as high as 300ksi (2068MPa), good ductility, good toughness and excellent corrosion resistance. The material shows excellent resistance to vulcanization, high temperature oxidation and hydrogen embrittlement.
The unique properties of MP35N alloy come from work hardening, martensitic transformation and aging treatment. If the material is in a state of complete work hardening, the recommended processing temperature can reach 399℃.

MP35N alloy is resistant to vulcanization, high temperature oxidation, hydrogen embrittlement, salt solution and most inorganic acids.
The alloy shows excellent stress corrosion cracking resistance in high strength and harsh environment, while cracks will appear in most traditional alloys in the same harsh environment. At the same time, MP35N has excellent pitting corrosion resistance and crack corrosion resistance.
In seawater environment, MP35N is not affected by general crack corrosion and stress corrosion, regardless of strength grade and material state.
MP35N is an inert metal. If it is connected with more active metals, such as carbon steel, 3 16 stainless steel, Monel K series metals, etc., it is easy to produce electrochemical corrosion.
MP35N alloy has the state of NACE MR-0 1-75, and the highest hardness is Rockwell hardness C35 (the high hardness of Zui can reach Rockwell hardness C48 through special cold rolling and aging treatment). The annealing temperature of MP35N is1038-1093 C, 1-4 hours, and then air-cooled.

After work hardening, MP35N can be aged at 427-649℃ to improve its strength. If the material is strengthened by di once processing, aging treatment can improve the strength. After aging, the strength of annealed materials will not be improved.
In order to optimize the mechanical properties, MP35N should be aged at 538-593℃ for 4 hours after cold working, and then air cooled.

MP35N should be forged from 1 177℃. In order to avoid surface cracking, it cannot be deformed when the temperature is lower than 87 1℃.
cold-working
The different strength of MP35N is mainly obtained by machining. Both cold working and hot working materials can be processed. The temperature of the hot-worked workpiece should be kept below 427℃
Work hardening can be achieved by drawing, rolling, extrusion, forging, rotary forging or a combination of processing methods.
Strength and hardness are basically linear with cold working rate, while ductility is inversely proportional to cold working rate. However, even if the deformation is large, the material can maintain excellent ductility.
When determining the strength of materials, it is necessary to consider that all the strengthening effects of deformation processing are superimposed. Therefore, it is not necessary for steel mills to complete all the intensive processing. The machining step of processing parts into the final product of zui can also produce some reinforcement.
Mechanical processing
MP35N is difficult to process in any heat treatment state. The processing parameters of MP35N are similar to those of Waspaloy, but superior to Waspaloy.
weld
MP35N can be welded by tungsten gas shielded welding. Generally speaking, the weldability of MP35N is similar to that of 304 stainless steel.
It is necessary to adjust the welding parameters to ensure that the heat input of each pass is low, which is about one-half or two-thirds of that of 304 material.
The research of tungsten gas shielded welding shows that the welding efficiency of annealed materials is high. If filler is needed, the matching chemical composition should be selected.
