Singapore General Hospital (Singapore General Hospital, hereinafter referred to as: SGH) is Singapore's largest and longest-established public hospital, built in 1821, the hospital has 29 medical specialties, of which orthopaedics, burns, nephrology, nuclear medicine, and haematopathology departments are the hospital's strengths, and it has become a national specialty service center.
Hospital building
The whole hospital ward is a complex building of conjoined combinations (including outpatient emergency department, ward internal medicine, surgery, medical and technical departments, office building, conference room, service department, etc., all in one building), and the contact between departments can be contacted through the closed central transmission system, which is both convenient and fast, and safe.
Each floor is equipped with 6 elevators. One elevator for patients, two elevators for family members, one elevator for staff, one elevator for food carts, and one elevator for transporting dirt. Patient-only elevator is limited to the second floor, and all the medical departments are also located on the second floor above, the reason is to effectively protect the patient's right to privacy, because the first floor is a public **** place, all the patients, visitors, medical staff and so on to and fro, and some of them are plastic, burns or amputations need to go out to check or treatment and do not want to let people know, so as not to cause unnecessary psychological trauma.
Ward facilities
Each ward is equipped with 80-90 beds, divided into A, B1, B2 level wards. A level is a single room, equipped with a TV, telephone, bathroom, air conditioning, electric beds (beds on both sides of the guards are equipped with room light switches, call alarm system, bed lifting buttons, etc.); B1 level is 4 beds per room, the facilities are different from the A level wards, it is 4 people **** with A bathroom, the beds are manual crank beds; B2 is 6 people 1 room, the ward is only equipped with an electric fan, no TV, telephone and bathroom, but the ward is set up in an activity room, indoor television, books for patients and their families to read, and a common bathroom. The different facilities allow patients to choose their beds according to their financial ability, avoiding the trouble of inter-disciplinary and borrowing beds, and maximizing the satisfaction of patients' needs.
Whether it is A, B1, or B2 level ward, each bed is equipped with a sliding enclosure screen, and all diagnosis and treatment and operation by medical staff are carried out within the enclosure screen, which not only protects the privacy of patients, but also effectively reduces unnecessary disputes.
Most notably, the entrance to each ward is equipped with four colors of indicator lights (white, green, yellow and red). When the white light is on, it prompts a health assistant to operate in the ward (e.g., assisting the patient to wipe, feed, go to the bathroom, etc.); when the green light is on, it prompts a healthcare worker to conduct diagnosis and treatment or operate in the ward, avoiding
the noise of the patient shouting in the corridor of the ward to look for the healthcare worker; when the yellow light flashes and makes a beep-beep-beep sound, it prompts the patient to ask for help (most of the problems of infusion, the patient asking for help in the When the yellow light flashes and emits a beep beep beep sound, prompting the patient to ask for help (mostly infusion problems, patients in the bathroom to seek help or patients fall, etc.), healthcare workers need to go to the ward in time to lift the alarm; all the wards in the healthcare workers need to seek help or when the patient accidentally occurs, only need to press the first aid light knob on the head of the bed, the ward door of the red alarm light will continue to flash and emit the sound of the first aid, to remind all the healthcare workers in the shift as long as they can put down the hands of the work, they need to rushed to the wards for assistance in the rescue. This reduces the need for specialists to notify the doctor, and allows for the fastest possible resuscitation time.
SGH gives the impression of being more of a community, a hotel, a recreation center, a shopping mall, or even a museum or an art gallery than a hospital, and it doesn't give people the impression of being in a white terror zone. The wide and long corridors and all corners can be seen at any time for people to rest seats, the wall can be seen everywhere exquisite paintings and other works of art, a piece of lush greenery in the courtyard surrounded by a number of exquisite sculptures, giving people a kind of care, a kind of warmth.
SGH is Singapore's largest acute care hospital and national referral center, and was accredited as the world's second-largest hospital by the Joint Commission International, an affiliate of the U.S. Agency for Health Care Administration, in 2005. The hospital has 29 medical specialties, including orthopaedics, burns, nephrology, nuclear medicine and haematopathology, which are the hospital's strengths and have made it the nation's center for specialized services. Moreover, the hospital is equipped with advanced facilities and provides diversified medical care.
