What is Relay Characterization? Why do relays need to meet the "relay characteristics"?

The input signal x of the relay increases continuously from zero to reach the action value xx when the armature starts to absorb, and the output signal of the relay jumps immediately from y=0 to y=ym, i.e., the normally-open contact breaks to pass, and once the contact closes, the input quantity x continues to increase, and the output signal y will no longer change.

1. The use of relay characteristics of the components of the automatic control system for control, furnace temperature regulation according to whether the furnace temperature exceeds the specified value and disconnect or turn on the power supply.

2. Only on and off two states of control, also known as two-position control, for the relay control type servo system, relay control refers to the drive power supply of all the voltage in accordance with the sign of the control deviation value of the positive and negative, positive or negative added to the executive motor.

3. To avoid continuous oscillation between positive and negative directions, a dead zone is often set between positive and negative directions. The components used in relay control are not limited to electromagnetic relays, and other means can be used to realize the relay characteristics.

4. In the two-position temperature regulation, often using a bimetal as a sensitive element, temperature change bimetal bending deformation due to different expansion coefficients of the two parts of the metal, connect or disconnect the contacts, and others such as hydraulic and pneumatic valves, etc., is also a component with relay characteristics.
