Hubei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine is a provincial university sponsored by Hubei Provincial People's Government. Founded in 1958, formerly Hubei Traditional Chinese Medicine School, was established in 1954. In 2003, the former Hubei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the former Hubei Institute of Drug Control merged to form a new Hubei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The school focuses on general undergraduate education, moderately expands the scale of postgraduate education, strives to develop education for students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan and overseas students, and actively develops adult education and continuing education. 1978 offers postgraduate education, which is one of the first universities in China to recruit postgraduate students majoring in Chinese medicine. 1993 was awarded the right of doctor's degree, which is the earliest provincial college in Hubei province. Approved by the Ministry of Education and state administration of traditional chinese medicine, the College enjoys the qualification of recruiting undergraduates and postgraduates from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and has become the only continuing education base of Chinese medicine as a foreign language in Hubei Province.
