Can magnolia be watered with pure water? How to water in winter

It depends: flowers are not suitable for watering in winter, especially orchids, which rarely absorb water. Water them once a winter, or don't pay them.

Attention should be paid to the following two periods: (It is suitable for friends with semi-natural planting method in greenhouse in winter, and it should be used with caution for those who promote autumn seedlings by heating in greenhouse in winter)

1. The growth diapause period is at the end of autumn. Orchid plants in northern China have entered a semi-dormant state. In South China and Central China, the temperature is high and the amount of sunlight is sufficient, so we should give enough water. It is especially important for bluegrass that has not germinated vigorously in summer and autumn. The principle of watering in this period is to water the topsoil with a depth of about 1 cm once when it loses water and turns white (depending on the material, of course).

It is recommended to water before dark in the afternoon (depending on the temperature).

2. The dormant period is the winter in the four seasons. The growth of orchids gradually changed from semi-dormancy to dormancy. In the semi-dormancy period, orchids still have weak growth (mainly vegetative growth). For orchid plants with small buds and weak tillers in summer and autumn, in order to achieve the goal of strong seedlings and strong buds, orchid plants in southern areas can also be given some water to make them grow fully. For blue plants with vigorous budding grass, water should be properly controlled to reduce the free water in the blue plants, and it can be watered once every 7- 10 days. Orchid plants are in a period of low consumption during dormancy, but because of the dry air and strong wind, the basin soil is often dehydrated and dry. It is required to check the basin soil regularly, avoid the strong wind in time, and water it once every 10- 15 days.

It is recommended to use water when the temperature is high at noon to avoid stiff buds. Spray water on the surface soil (1 cm thick) on the basin surface every 3-5 days to keep the water in the deep part of the basin soil from being evaporated prematurely or completely, so that the deep soil is in a "wet" state, but not wet. That is, it is in a flat state with extremely low water content. In addition, in winter, orchid plants should be sprayed on the leaves in time to achieve the purpose of hydrating, humidifying and dust removal, and foliar spraying can be done once every five days. It is best to spray water with clear water that has settled for several hours, and it is best to use 3/ 1000 acetic acid solution for dust removal. In short, it is particularly important to keep the air humidity of orchids in winter!
