The female lead of "Cure Lovers" suffers from Huntington's chorea.
Led by Luo Yunxi and Zhang Ruonan, with Bai Jingting in a special guest starring role, the contemporary urban drama "Healing Lovers" will be broadcast on CCTV8 from November 2 at 21:30 onwards. The drama is based on Lemon Yuyan's novel The Cured, which tells the story of neurosurgery god Gu Yun Zheng, who meets Su Weian, a young medical girl suffering from a rare disease, while on an aid mission in Africa. The two of them fall in love with each other during their side-by-side fights*** against Huntington's chorea and cure each other.
Male lead Luo Yunxi plays the role of Gu Yun Zheng in the drama, while female lead Zhang Ruonan plays the character of Su Weian in the drama. In addition "Healing Lovers" brings a different feeling as the latest drama on line. Gu Yun Zheng in the drama is a medical aid volunteer whose resilience, optimism and expertise make him a white angel.

Su Wei-an, on the other hand, is a young girl suffering from Huntington's chorea (note: an autosomal dominantly inherited neurodegenerative disease manifested by chorea-like symptoms, cognitive and psychiatric disorders), who finds courage and warmth from Gu Yun Zheng. Su Wei-an, the drama's heroine, realizes early on that she will most likely start to develop the disease in her 30s and eventually lose herself.
Because of this, she was once disillusioned and even had thoughts of suicide. It was only when she met the male lead Gu Yun Zheng that she found confidence and bravery in her life. The drama pays great attention to medical details and authenticity in its production, hiring experts as consultants and utilizing actual medical equipment and sites. In addition, the drama also provides an all-encompassing display of the human landscape of the African region, showcasing the charm generated by the collision of different cultures.
