Many parents only know how to bring a baby booklet with them when they get vaccinated, but they don't know how to utilize the information in it, which makes the growth charts of children useless, which is quite a pity.
After the birth of the child, the mother will get a baby manual, there are many complete information for parents to refer to, and inside the appendix of the "new version of the children's growth charts" can help parents to determine the child's development. Currently, the growth curve used in Taiwan is based on the standards issued by the World Health Organization (WHO), and is applicable to children from zero to five years of age. The child growth curve can be used to assess three extremely important growth indicators, such as head circumference, height and weight, and each curve has five curves, from top to bottom: 97 percent, 85 percent, 50 percent, 15 percent and 3 percent. The newest version is the boy's version and the girl's version, which is different for boys and girls.
Many parents only know to bring their baby's booklet with them when they get vaccinated, but they don't know how to utilize the information in it, which makes the growth charts useless, and that's a shame.
STEP 1 Select the gender: select the blue boy version or the pink girl version for your baby.
STEP 2 : Find the age (months/years) of your baby in the horizontal coordinate, for example, if your baby is 10 months old, choose the position where the horizontal coordinate reads "10 months".
STEP 3 Then look for the vertical coordinate: compare the length/height, head circumference, and weight of the vertical coordinate. For example, if your baby is 83 centimeters tall, you would look at the range from 80 to 85 centimeters, and find the position of 83 centimeters. The same goes for weight and head circumference.
STEP 4 Finding the intersection: Based on the horizontal and vertical axes you just found, you can further find the intersection of the two lines, which is the percentile of the baby's growth in the same age group. For example, a 1-year-old boy with a head circumference of 46 centimeters is in the 50th percentile.
