China Medical University, abbreviated as "China Medical" or "CMCU", "Chinese medicine" (as opposed to "northern medicine" "high medicine"), the school is located in Taichung City, Taiwan Province of North District, is a specialized university of medicine, but also in Taiwan Province of China, a private institution of higher learning. It aims to promote Chinese traditional medicine and the unification of Chinese and Western medicine. The university was originally named "China Medical College", founded in 1958; in August 2003, it was reorganized into "China Medical University".

The school specializes in the teaching of traditional Chinese medicine, and was the only college in Taiwan to establish a department of Chinese medicine before Chang Gung University established a department of Chinese medicine. In addition to the main campus in Taichung, the school has a branch in Beigang Township, Yunlin County. There are 8 colleges, 20 departments, 31 master's programs and master's degree programs, 13 doctoral programs and doctoral degree programs, and the Center for Liberal Studies.
