China Medical University, abbreviated as "China Medical" or "CMCU", "Chinese medicine" (as opposed to "northern medicine" "high medicine"), the school is located in Taichung City, Taiwan Province of North District, is a specialized university of medicine, but also in Taiwan Province of China, a private institution of higher learning. It aims to promote Chinese traditional medicine and the unification of Chinese and Western medicine. The university was originally named "China Medical College", founded in 1958; in August 2003, it was reorganized into "China Medical University".

The school specializes in the teaching of traditional Chinese medicine, and was the only college in Taiwan to establish a department of Chinese medicine before Chang Gung University established a department of Chinese medicine. In addition to the main campus in Taichung, the school has a branch in Beigang Township, Yunlin County. There are 8 colleges, 20 departments, 31 master's programs and master's degree programs, 13 doctoral programs and doctoral degree programs, and the Center for Liberal Studies.
3. In addition to its Taichung campus, the University also has a Beigang campus in Beigang Township, Yunlin County. After the establishment of the University*** there are six colleges, including the School of Medicine, the School of Pharmacy, the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the School of Public*** Health, the School of Health Care, and the School of Life Sciences, which contain 21 departments, 25 research institutes (master's and doctoral degrees), and teaching, research, and medical units, such as the Hospital of Taichung and the Hospital of Beigang.
Research and medical facilities are well-equipped, and about 70% of the departments and institutes are related to Chinese and Western medicine. It provides the most complete curriculum with the integration of Chinese and Western medicine in the country, and fosters medical, nursing, pharmaceutical, and technological professionals with the characteristics of integrating Chinese and Western medicine, as well as the development of the three major fields with the most distinctive characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine, including the development of Chinese medicine resources, the research and development of traditional Chinese medicinal health food products and antidisease drugs, and the theory and development of traditional Chinese medicine (including acupuncture and moxibustion).
4. After nearly half a century of intensive cultivation, the University has developed into an outstanding institution of higher education with the most integrated characteristics of Chinese and Western medicine in the country and even in the world, and has gradually implemented the scientific, modernization and internationalization of Chinese medicine, as well as pioneered the new medical science that combines Chinese and Western medicine.
