According to the Tibet Autonomous Region People's Government, Tibet belongs to the south.

The Tibet Autonomous Region (TAR), referred to as "Tibet", is located in the southwestern border, neighboring Xinjiang, Qinghai, Sichuan and Yunnan, and bordering Myanmar, India, Bhutan, Nepal and Kashmir, with a national border of more than 4,000 kilometers, and is an important national security barrier and ecological security barrier. Tibetan population accounts for about 90%, Han Chinese about 8%, and other ethnic minorities about 2%.
