Thoughts on the Future of Healthcare

Recently, I read a topic on Knowledge.com about whether the relationship between doctors and patients will be better in the future due to this epidemic.

After reading a lot of answers, I just want to say: no, it will even be worse. 17 years after the SARS outbreak in 2003, the relationship between doctors and patients is still getting worse and worse.

Nowadays, many people call doctors and nurses "white angels" and cheer for them, but in the future, those who beat and cut doctors may still be the same group of people.

In their eyes, the doctor is selfless dedication, should be no reward, what? The doctor also wants a high income? What?

In their eyes, the doctor is selfless, and should be able to do whatever he or she wants.

This is not the main, take an example

A patient went to the doctor, the symptoms are coughing, fever, the doctor thought he was a cold, so he gave him some medication, but went back to find the more serious, a check turned out to be a problem with the lungs, but also very serious, there may be a life-threatening. So he found that doctor at that time and said that he was a quack, and he was so furious that he wanted to cut him with a knife. So this doctor was lightly beaten up and died.

Later, this doctor, because of the previous lesson, again encountered similar symptoms of the patient, he dared not sloppy, so he asked him to blood tests, filming, do a variety of tests, everywhere careful, afraid of what disease did not check out. But the final test result was a common cold. The patient was very angry and thought, "This doctor knows how to make money, and he gave me so many tests for a common cold.

So, in either case, this doctor is going to be scolded.

Most patients are reasonable, but maybe that 5% are looking for trouble. The behavior of the few is to be taken on by all. Because of that 5%, therefore the doctor is going to prescribe all kinds of tests for everyone, just for fear that the situation I mentioned above will occur, and isn't the cost of that extra test going to have to be borne by everyone?

That's only part of the problem, the bigger problem is the scarcity of medical resources, and the difficulty and expense of patients getting to the doctor. Pediatricians are the first to bear the brunt of the problem, the first to be exposed.

Pediatrics is also known as "dumb medicine," because children themselves can't describe their symptoms, and because children are developing, and all kinds of physical conditions are different from those of adults, and are still in a state of flux. This makes pediatrics more difficult to treat without considerable experience and skill.

Pediatrics is also the most serious doctor-patient relationship, now the child is the treasure of the family, the child has a little bit of bad parents will be on the doctor to fight. Coupled with the low income of pediatricians, the work is very tired, there has been a "pediatrician panic".

In 2017, the shortage of pediatricians in China has exceeded 200,000, the total number of doctors is 100,000, which is still 17 years of data, the gap is still getting bigger.

The number of children aged 0-14 in China is about 260 million, and 100,000 pediatricians have to serve 260 million children.

On average, one doctor has to serve 2,600 children.

When a for people to look at it can be more relaxed, so it is accompanied by this picture.

In fact, studying medicine is quite difficult, at least a master's degree to start, 5 years of undergraduate + 3 years of master's + 3 years of doctoral + 3 years of training 。。。。

In the future, there is a possibility that the current healthcare environment will force the marketization of healthcare, just like abroad, where a cold can cost thousands of dollars.

Private hospitals are growing and it's easier and more convenient to see a doctor, but it's expensive.

There are more and more private eye hospitals, dental hospitals, and pediatric hospitals, but they all have the same ****

What will happen is that the rich will go to the hospitals with good service and quality, and the poor will have to go to the crowded places, where the queues will take a long time, and it will be hard to register, and they will be in pain and despair.

The behavior now is all about paying for it later

There is still a long way to go 。。。。
