2. ABUS is a three-dimensional breast ultrasound scanning technology introduced by ge Medical. It can automatically perform whole breast ultrasound tomosynthesis scanning, and at the same time obtain coronal section and sagittal section image information. While ordinary ultrasound is unable to clearly observe the border behind the mass and the glandular structure, ABUS is able to show not only the internal structure of the breast mass, but also the border, margins, and surrounding glandular tissues of the mass, as well as the dilated ducts and internal lesions.
In addition, ABUS images are more subtle and higher resolution, and for breast lesions smaller than 1cm, ABUS is more sensitive than regular ultrasound, and has an advantage over regular ultrasound in detecting small lesions. Therefore, the ABUS system can significantly improve the detection rate of breast lesions by performing full volume scanning of the breast, and can observe the coronal section, which cannot be displayed by 2D ultrasound, and can more intuitively and graphically display the internal structure of the lesion, as well as the relationship between the lesion and the surrounding area, thus providing more diagnostic information for the clinic.
