Classification of material coding

Materials coding methods are many, but I think that reference to national standards and then according to the actual situation of the warehouse to categorize the code, is a good way. I used to do the same thing in warehouse management.

National Classification of Commodities and Materials and Codes

............

3 Coding Methods

3.1 This standard is a hierarchical code structure,*** divided into four levels (excluding categories), each level is represented by Two Arabic numerals. In order to facilitate the search, set up a door category, with the English alphabet to indicate its order.

3.2 The code for each layer generally starts from "01" and is arranged in ascending order, up to "99". However, the third layer of the code is written in another special provision, see 3.6.

3.3 The number of "99" in each layer of the code are indicated in the category of shelter. The same layer is divided into a number of intervals, each interval of the category of sheltering is generally expressed in the last digit of the code for "9".

3.4 The first, second and third levels of the category is no longer subdivided, in their code followed by "0" up to the eighth digit.

3.5 The layers are left appropriate empty code, in order to increase or adjust the class with.

3.6 The third layer of the "open area", the categories with "01" to "09" said. When there is no open list of categories, the third level of the main classification area category code is generally written from "10". Open area categories in the code are labeled with "※" number.

4 provisions relating to the "open area"

4.1 "open area" category set

In order to meet the special needs of management, this standard in the third level of the "open area". ". The district category has the following two cases:

a. The main classification area category contains products (goods, materials) reclassified according to different attributes, for example, for extra-thick steel plate, in the main classification area has been classified according to the steel, in the open area and according to the use of the plate will be divided into "boiler with extra-thick steel plate", "pressure vessel with extra-thick steel plate". Pressure vessels with extra-thick steel plate" and so on;

b. Set up categories according to different requirements, for example, in the main classification area has been classified according to the processing technology of metal-cutting machine tools, but in the management of metal-cutting machine tools need to understand the level of technological equipment, therefore, in the "open area" and Supplementary settings of "CNC machine tools", "high-precision machine tools" and so on.

4.2 The use of open area categories

There is no strict logical relationship between the open area categories, so generally can not be summarized; due to the existence of cross-cutting relationships, can not be summarized with the main classification area categories.

5 unit of calculation

This standard generally use the unit of calculation without quantitative terms, the user can according to the needs of the appropriate quantitative terms. Not given the unit of calculation of products (goods, materials), need to be summarized, you can temporarily use "yuan".

6 Requirements for use

6.1 This standard for the national economy unified accounting and national economic information system provides a unified national industrial and agricultural products (commodities, materials) classification and coding system, all departments and regions must be in accordance with this standard and the state on the use of this standard for the relevant requirements for the organization of the reported information.

6.2 Departments and regions in the use of this standard process allows appropriate refinement and supplementation; can also be developed on the basis of this standard in their own departments, their own standards, but must be compatible with this standard to ensure that the exchange of information and resources **** enjoy.
