The Bureau of Medical Security mainly does the following:
1. Formulates draft laws and regulations, policies, plans and standards for the medical security system, formulates departmental regulations and organizes their implementation;
2. Organizes the formulation and implementation of supervision and management of the medical security fund;
3. Organizes the formulation of policies on the financing and treatment of medical security;
4, Organize the formulation of unified urban and rural medical insurance catalogs and payment standards, establish a dynamic adjustment mechanism, formulate rules for negotiating access to medical insurance catalogs and organize their implementation;
5. Establish a mechanism for reasonably determining and dynamically adjusting the prices of medical services paid for by medical insurance;
6. Formulate bidding and purchasing policies for medicines and consumables and supervise their implementation;
7. Take charge of the management of the medical insurance administration, public *** service system and informationization;
8. Completing other tasks assigned by the CPC Central Committee and the State Council.
Social medical insurance refers to the fact that when a worker is sick, the social insurance institution will give appropriate subsidies or reimbursement for the medical expenses he or she needs, so as to enable the worker to restore his or her health and labor capacity and to enter the process of social reproduction as soon as possible. Social health insurance is an important part of social insurance, generally undertaken by the government, the government will use economic, administrative and legal means to enforce the implementation as well as the organization and management.
