Surgery Synopsis

"Surgery" tells the story of an "accident" that occurred 29 years ago at the modern Inha Hospital.

The story begins with a "medical accident" that led to a fatal accident years ago. A car accident victim who was successfully resuscitated died of a sudden drug allergy, and the nurse in charge that night, Zhang Shumei, was forced to leave her post after being questioned about using the wrong medication to cause the patient's death.

Zhang Shumei's eight-year-old son was punished for fighting because he didn't believe in his mother's negligence in causing the patient's death, and delayed in picking up his four-year-old sister, who was abducted by human traffickers. Zhang Shumei lost her daughter and "medication errors caused death" accusations of mental drift, suicide, and the son is also out of town to relatives after the whereabouts of the unknown.

Chinese-American surgical expert Zhuang Shuji (Jin Dong) comes to the new Renhe Hospital in search of his lost sister in order to find out the truth about his mother's accident 30 years ago. The daughter of the deceased back then, Lu Chenxi (played by Bai Baihe), master Bo Wen (played by Ma Shaohua), grows up to be the attending thoracic surgeon, but because of repeated offenses against the director of thoracic surgery, Yang Fan (played by Liu Yijun), is transferred to the emergency room.

Distinctive character portraits, realistic hospital routines, and a rich tapestry of life are the highlights of the drama. The Renhe Hospital in "Surgical Storm" is like a condensed society, from which you can see people's warmth, happiness, anger, sadness and fear. Whether it's the medical staff, or the patients and their families, all of them have vivid and real emotions in the drama, and the strong style of industrial drama and realistic atmosphere of the hospital will bring a refreshing feeling to the audience.

The story of "Surgical Wind" is tight and the fate of the characters fluctuates, and the director, who is known for his pacing, plays a steady hand in this production. The characters in the drama experience frustration and helplessness, but still have an unbreakable responsibility and faith in their profession. The director and screenwriter use realism to juggle the struggles and stances of different groups of people, and instead of selling sharp contradictions, they dissolve this thick issue into a frank discussion, leaving the audience with deep thoughts.
