Physiology of traditional Chinese medicine is mainly based on the basic theories of yin and yang, five elements, viscera, essence and blood, body fluid and so on to determine the physical differences of different individuals in the crowd. Its specific classification methods include yin and yang classification, five elements classification, viscera classification, body fat and thin classification, temperament and courage classification.
First, the method of constitution classification.
Traditional Chinese medicine uses yin-yang theory to explain the law of life movement and the problems of health and disease. Therefore, Chinese medicine mainly uses the theory of yin and yang to classify physique from the characteristics of physiological functions. In this section, the constitution is classified by Yin and Yang. It should be pointed out that the terms of yin deficiency, yang deficiency, yang hyperactivity, phlegm retention, spleen deficiency and liver hyperactivity used in constitution classification are different concepts from those used in syndrome differentiation and treatment, and they reflect an existing individual specificity in a non-disease state.
Second, normal physique
"Yin and Yang are balanced, life calls people", "Yin and Yang are secrets, and God is the rule". Therefore, the ideal constitution should be the nature of yin and yang, but the balance of yin and yang is the dynamic balance of yin and yang, so there is always a state of yin or yang, which belongs to the normal physiological state as long as it does not exceed the adjustment and adaptability of the body. Therefore, the normal constitution of the human body can be roughly divided into three types: yin-yang balance, partial yang and partial yin.
(A) Yin and Yang peace and quality
The balance of yin and yang is a constitution with relatively coordinated functions. People with this constitution are physically strong, moderately fat and thin, or fat but not stagnant, thin and energetic; Although his skin color and skin color are partial to five colors, they are all bright and subtle, with bright eyes, easy-going and cheerful personality, moderate appetite, smooth adjustment, strong self-adjustment and external adaptability. The combination of yin and yang is not easy to feel exogenous evil and is less sick. Even if you are sick, you often heal yourself or are easy to cure: full of energy, great work potential, good sleep at night and high rest efficiency. If the day after tomorrow is properly nursed back to health, there will be no patients with violent trauma or chronic diseases, and their physique will not change easily and they will live longer.
(2) Yang-biased substances
Partial yang refers to the constitution characterized by hyperactivity of yang, fever and hyperactivity. People with heavy yang are more likely to lose weight, but they are stronger. Its skin color is slightly red or slightly black, or oily skin; Outgoing, active, irritable, poor self-control; It has a large appetite and a strong digestion and absorption function. People who are sunny are usually afraid of heat, like cold, or have a slightly higher body temperature, so they are prone to sweating and like drinking water when moving; Energetic, agile, quick thinking and sexually active.
People with yang deviation are more vulnerable to wind, summer heat and heat evil. After the attack of evil, they often show heat syndrome and excess syndrome, and turn to dryness and hurt yin. Skin is prone to sores. Internal injury is the syndrome of excessive fire, hyperactivity of yang or yin deficiency, which is prone to dizziness, headache, palpitation, insomnia, bleeding and other symptoms.
People with this constitution are hyperactive in yang, active and have the heat of consuming yin. Overwork, thoughtlessness and sexual immorality will accelerate yin injury and develop into common pathological constitutions such as hyperactivity of yang, yin deficiency and phlegm-fire in clinic.
(3) Yin-biased substances
Yin-Yin refers to the constitution characterized by yang deficiency, cold and quietness. People with this constitution are often overweight, but weak and prone to fatigue; Pale face, lack of porcelain; Introverted, quiet, or timid; Eat less, digestion and absorption function is average; Usually afraid of cold, like hot, or low body temperature. Weak energy, slow action and slow response.
People with yin deficiency are more vulnerable to the evil of cold and dampness, which often turns from cold to cold, and the exterior syndrome is not hot or high, which is easy to spread into the internal organs or straight into the internal organs. Frostbite is prone to occur in winter. Internal injuries and miscellaneous diseases are more common in yin deficiency and yang hyperactivity syndrome. It is prone to diseases such as dampness stagnation, edema, phlegm and blood stasis. People with this constitution have weak yang, which is easy to cause yang deficiency, weak viscera function and endogenous water, thus forming common pathological constitutions such as yang deficiency, phlegm retention and phlegm turbidity.
