1 Scope This standard specifies the requirements and usage guidelines of the occupational health and safety management system, aiming at enabling organizations to provide healthy and safe working conditions, prevent work-related injuries and health damage, and actively improve occupational health and safety performance. This includes considering applicable laws, regulations and other requirements, formulating and implementing occupational health and safety policies and objectives. This standard is applicable to anyone who wishes to: a) establish, implement and maintain an occupational health and safety management system to improve occupational health and safety, eliminate or minimize occupational health and safety risks (including system defects), and take advantage of occupational health and safety opportunities to deal with the non-conformity of the occupational health and safety system related to organizational activities; B) Continuously improve the organization's occupational health and safety performance and the degree to which the objectives are achieved; C) Ensure that the organization conforms to its prescribed occupational health and safety policy; D) Confirm that it meets the requirements of this standard. The purpose of this standard is to apply to organizations with different scales, types and activities, to occupational health and safety risks under the control of the organization, and to consider the operating environment of the organization and the needs and expectations of employees and other interested parties. This standard does not put forward specific occupational health and safety performance criteria, nor does it stipulate the structure of occupational health and safety management system. This standard enables organizations to integrate other aspects of health and safety, such as employee health/welfare, through the organization's occupational health and safety management system. Apart from the risks to employees and other interested parties, this standard does not cover other issues, such as product safety, property damage or environmental impact. This standard can be used in whole or in part to systematically improve occupational health and safety management. However, only all the requirements of this standard are included in the organization's occupational health and safety management system and are all met.
