Development history:
After the establishment of the China * * Production Party, the Central Committee established the Women's Department on 1922 to strengthen the Party's leadership over the women's movement and better guide its development. Xiang Jingyu was appointed as the first minister of the Central Women's Department. During the first revolutionary civil war, the Women's Liberation Association was established. During the Second Revolutionary Civil War, a meeting of representatives of women workers and farmers was established in the revolutionary base areas.
During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, the Women's Salvation Association was established in the anti-Japanese base areas; During the People's Liberation War, women's federations were established in the liberated areas.
