Is IVF healthy?

By observing the weight, physical growth, development, health status, intelligence and various academic achievements after school, including the fertility of adults, it is found that the children born of IVF are not obviously different from those born of normal natural pregnancy, that is, they are similar to natural pregnancy in all aspects, such as the incidence of tumors and various diseases.

Generally speaking, IVF does not increase the genetic risk, or it does not increase the unhealthy situation. It is mainly related to genetic diseases or certain diseases carried by parents themselves. For example, parents themselves carry some genetic diseases and cannot have children. With the help of IVF, they are pregnant, and the sperm and eggs are still their own. In this case, it is possible to directly inherit the genetic diseases carried by parents, but there is generally no additional risk of genetic diseases.

With the increasing incidence of infertility, artificial assisted reproductive technologies such as artificial insemination and IVF are used more and more. About 15% couples of childbearing age in China suffer from infertility, and a large number of people eventually need to conceive IVF. According to the current annual birth statistics, about10.5 million-10.7 billion people are born every year in China. About 1% of these people were born as test-tube babies, which means that about15-170,000 test-tube babies are born every year in China.
