Caesarean section, what harm will it cause to parturient and newborn?

There is a saying that "the melon is ripe", just like a baby in childbirth, it will be born on the day of delivery. For caesarean section, many people will choose to "give birth" to the baby through medical surgery, and then naturally introduce it.

Although some people choose caesarean section as a last resort, today I still want to tell you the harm of caesarean section!

The harm of caesarean section to lying-in women

There are more complications after cesarean section than vaginal delivery, such as reproductive tract infection, wound infection, postpartum hemorrhage, other tissue and organ damage, or dangerous complications such as venous embolism or pulmonary embolism.

After cesarean section, the incidence of pelvic inflammatory disease, irregular menstruation, low back pain, ectopic pregnancy, placenta attached to uterine incision during the second pregnancy, or placenta previa caused massive bleeding is high. Moreover, once during unplanned pregnancy, the difficulty of induced abortion increases, and it is easy to cause uterine perforation or incomplete abortion. When the second pregnancy is full-term, the uterine wound is prone to rupture or serious diseases such as stillbirth and intrauterine bleeding occur.

The harm of caesarean section to newborns

The most common is "Caesarean section syndrome": the main manifestations of babies after birth are vomiting and poor breastfeeding.

This is because newborns can't discharge lung fluid due to insufficient compression during vaginal delivery, which is easy to cause common complications such as asphyxia, wet lung, respiratory distress syndrome, amniotic fluid inhalation or amniotic fluid swallowing into digestive tract, which is medically called "caesarean section syndrome". The incidence of respiratory dysfunction and amblyopia is higher than that of vaginal delivery, and its resistance is much lower than that of vaginal delivery.

In addition, caesarean section can easily lead to baby infection.

After cesarean section, the parturient may cause neonatal hypoglycemia, dehydration, jaundice and other complications due to anesthesia or abdominal pain, mobility inconvenience, difficulty in breastfeeding and lack of breast milk. Studies have proved that the immunoglobulin G level of cesarean section children is lower than that of vaginal delivery children, and they are prone to infection after birth. If cesarean section is difficult, it will also damage the skin, bones, nerves and other tissues when the baby is born. According to the data, there is no difference in intelligence between babies delivered by cesarean section and those delivered naturally, but the adaptability of babies delivered by cesarean section is worse than that of babies delivered naturally.

Why is cesarean section harmful?

There is no way. In the face of dystocia and high-risk women, those hazards can only be "the lesser of the two evils" compared with the lives of women and babies, so cesarean section is chosen to save the lives of women and babies.

Therefore, cesarean section should be carried out in strict accordance with medical indications. Cesarean section without medical indications can not only reduce perinatal mortality, but also increase morbidity and maternal mortality after cesarean section.
