Second year of secondary school graduation, he went to Canada to study Communication Studies, with a minor in Economics. His sister, Vivienne Kuk, exposed him to movies when he was a teenager. After Gao Zhisen went to Canada to shoot "The Precious Chaser", Ku Dezhao stopped his studies for one year to follow them. After completing his studies, he returned to Hong Kong and was promoted by Ko to write "Beyond Diary", and became the assistant director, officially entering the industry. He has written works such as "The Revenant", "The House of Gold", "The Family", "When the Peach is Ripe", "The Unwritten Show" and "The Water Margin Laughs".
