It is of great practical significance to introduce the concept of health into the study of urban ecosystem, evaluate and judge urban ecological environment problems from the perspective of composite ecosystem, and provide decision-making basis for eco-city construction. Based on the health connotation of urban complex ecosystem, distance index and coordination index are proposed to represent the development level and coordination state of the system, and an urban ecosystem health evaluation model integrating distance index and coordination index is constructed, and the evaluation standard and evaluation index system of urban ecosystem health are established.

Taking Ningbo as an example, this paper reveals the health characteristics and regional spatial distribution of Ningbo's urban ecosystem, which shows that the model can well identify the composite characteristics and regional spatial characteristics of urban ecosystem, point out the key action areas of urban ecological planning and construction, and provide decision-making basis for the city to implement the sustainable development strategy.

The health status of urban ecosystem in Chongqing was studied. The results show that the ecosystem health in Chongqing is morbid in structure and function. Sustainable utilization capacity and dynamic change belong to sub-health state, and the comprehensive health status of urban ecosystem belongs to sub-health state. Taking Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai as reference cities, this paper makes a comparative evaluation and draws the conclusion that Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai are also in sub-health state. However, the overall health status of the four urban ecosystems is ranked as Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin and Chongqing. Through this evaluation, the health status and influencing factors of Chongqing's urban ecosystem were clarified, and the health gap between Chongqing and other three municipalities was understood, which provided scientific basis for Chongqing's urban ecological planning and protection, and a set of relatively complete evaluation indicators was established through qualitative and quantitative analysis.
