Philips is a Dutch brand, but its TVs are made in China.
Philips Electronics is one of the world's largest electronics brands, topping the list in Europe. Philips entered the Chinese market in 1920 and established its first joint venture in 1985. Philips has become one of the largest investment partners in China's electronics industry, with a total cumulative investment of more than US$3.4 billion, 35 joint ventures and wholly owned enterprises in China, more than 60 offices nationwide, and more than 19,000 employees*** In 2002, Philips was honored by the China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (CAEFI) for being ranked number one in terms of turnover and foreign exchange earnings from exports among foreign-invested enterprises in China. In 2002, Philips was awarded the annual "Double High Enterprise Special Contribution Award" by the China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment (CAEFI) for ranking first in China in terms of both turnover and export earnings among foreign invested enterprises.
