The Regulations on the Administration of Radiological Diagnosis and Treatment were jointly promulgated by the Ministry of Health of the People's Republic of China and the State Environmental Protection Administration, with the aim of standardizing the safety management and quality control of radiological diagnosis and treatment, and safeguarding public health and safety. The implementation date of the regulations is May 1, 2006.
The regulations include requirements for the construction of radiotherapy facilities, equipment management, personnel training, operational standards and radiation safety control. Among other things, radiotherapy institutions are required to have appropriate licenses and technician certificates, strictly comply with operating standards and safety control requirements, and conduct staff training and assessment to ensure the safety and quality of radiotherapy work.
In addition, the regulations also require radiotherapy organizations to establish a comprehensive file management and incident reporting mechanism, regular radiation safety testing and equipment quality inspection, radiation leakage and accidents are reported and disposed of in a timely manner to protect public health and safety.
