"History of Tongchuan

Tongchuan, formerly known as "Tongguan", was renamed Tongchuan because of its homonymity with "Tongguan", and its seat was located in the river of Tongshui.

Tongchuan Xia and Shang belonged to the ancient Yongzhou. Qin belonged to the internal history of the land. Western Han Jingdi two years (155 years ago) began to set up the county, under the left Feng Yi. Three Kingdoms Wei under the Beidi County. Northern Wei Taiping Zhenjun seven years (446) set up Tongguan County, under the Beidi County. In the fourth year of Jiande of the Northern Zhou Dynasty (575), Tongguan County was renamed Tongguan County and was subordinate to Yizhou. In the Sui and Tang dynasties, it was under the Yongzhou and Jingzhao counties. From the third year of Tongguang (925) of the Later Tang Dynasty in the Five Dynasties, through the Song, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was subordinate to Yaozhou.

In the early years of the Republic of China, Tongguan belonged to Xi'an Prefecture, and in 1913, it belonged to Guanzhong Road of Shaanxi Province, and in 1927, it belonged to Guanzhong District, and in July, 25 years later, it belonged to the Seventh Administrative Inspector District of Shaanxi Province, and in the early part of 29 years later, it belonged to the Third Administrative Inspector District, and in April, 33 years later, it belonged to the Second Administrative Inspector Office, and in July, 35 years later, it belonged to Tongchuan District, which was renamed Tongchuan.

In May 1948, according to the Chinese **** Road East Work Committee instructions, the establishment of Tongguan County Government, under the leadership of the Shanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region Government; in November, under the leadership of Guanzhong Sub-district Administrative Inspectorate Commissioner's Office. 1949 Tongchuan was liberated in April, in May, the Guanzhong Sub-district Administrative Inspectorate changed to Sanyuan Sub-district Administrative Inspectorate Commissioner's Office, Tongguan County to its leadership. 7 July, the county name was renamed Tongchuan. On May 1, 1950, Tongchuan County was changed to Xianyang Sub-district Administrative Inspector's Office, and on January 20, 1953, Tongchuan County was changed to be under the direct leadership of the Provincial People's Government, and on April 5, 1958, the State Council decided to abolish the establishment of Tongchuan County, and set up the city of Tongchuan, which would come under the jurisdiction of the province, and on November 1, the Central Government of the People's Republic of China approved the abolition of the establishments of Fuping County and Yaohsiung County, and to incorporate the administrative areas of Fuping County and Yaohsiung County as well as parts of Yijun County into Tongchuan County. In August 1961, the C*** Shaanxi Provincial Committee notified that the establishment of Fuping County and Yao County was restored, and Tongchuan City was transferred to the jurisdiction of the Weinan Administrative Inspector's Office.

On August 1, 1966, Tongchuan City was changed to a provincial municipality.On January 1, 1980, four townships in Pucheng County, namely Guangyang, Gaolouhe, Azhuang, and Xiaojiaobao, and Yaoxian County, were transferred to Tongchuan City, and on May 1 of the same year, the city and suburb were divided into county-level establishments.On October 25, 1983, Yijun County was transferred to Tongchuan City.In July 1992, the new area of Tongchuan City was created, and in 1993, the new area of Tongchuan City was established. November, by the Shaanxi Provincial People's Government approved the construction of new areas and enjoy the provincial economic and technological development zones of all preferential policies. 2000 March, approved by the State Council, Tongchuan City, urban areas renamed Tongchuan City, Wangyi District, Tongchuan City, suburb of Tongchuan City, renamed Tongchuan City, Yintai District.
