Shen, formerly known as Shen, 1952 was born in Shanghai and his ancestral home is Cixi, Zhejiang. 1969 went to Xishuangbanna to jump the queue after graduating from junior high school and lived in the frontier of Yunnan 18 years. He is currently a member of the Children's Literature Committee of the Chinese Writers Association and a director of the Shanghai Writers Association.
