What is the basis of occupational health protection in China at present?

1. China ranks first in the world in terms of the number of people exposed to occupational hazards, the number of occupational diseases, the number of deaths and the number of new cases. Dust is the main hazard of occupational diseases. Pneumoconiosis accounted for 7 1%, and poisoning accounted for 20%. Up to 2002, there were 58 cases of pneumoconiosis1377 cases, 442,200 cases of pneumoconiosis, and cumulative deaths 139 177 cases, with a mortality rate of 22.22%. At the same time, the direct and indirect economic losses caused by occupational diseases reach 300 billion yuan every year, and the social impact is also great.

2. China's per capita investment in occupational health is obviously insufficient, which is extremely incompatible with the level of economic development. Traditional occupational hazards have not been completely controlled, and new occupational hazards are constantly emerging.

3. China has formed an occupational health supervision and technical service network, but there are some problems such as low proportion of professional and technical personnel, insufficient reserve force and imperfect disease information monitoring system.

4. Some employers ignore workers' health rights and interests, and the occupational hazards are prominent. The health rights and interests of workers, especially migrant workers, are not protected, and workers themselves lack health rights and self-protection awareness. At the same time, the problem of local protectionism still exists, and the harmful factors of occupational diseases have shifted seriously.
