Card body telephoto heart Fuji 10X home telephoto JZ505 review

IT168 Review Fuji JZ505 has a 10x optical zoom and card-like body, with the same brand of pocket telephoto king Fuji F85 compared to the JZ505 is more focused on cost-effective, in terms of hardware and functional modes are also trying to pocket telephoto benchmarks close. However, this portable telephoto only uses an ordinary-sized CCD is more popular and more suitable for ordinary households, and the ultra-high cost performance also makes the JZ505 have a wider audience.

We conducted a detailed review and rigorous testing of the Fujifilm JZ505, and ultimately gave it a recommendation index score based on the weighting of compact telephoto digital cameras:

Figure: Fujifilm JZ505 review

After the test, the Fujifilm JZ505, which is a very good price/performance ratio, got a recommendation index score of 63 points. This is a great value for money Fujifilm JZ505 has been tested and scored 63 out of 100 on the Recommendation Index, making it the best product in its price range.

Function index: The Fujifilm JZ505 meets the 2010 market mainstream with its 14-megapixel effective pixel count, and the 10x optical zoom lens gives this family camera a more comprehensive focal range.

Experience index: In order to create a more cost-effective products, Fujifilm JZ505 LCD screen downsized to 2.7 inches equipped with 230,000 dots. But the smart and fun shooting modes are still all the same, in addition to the EXR sensor does not have the corresponding high quality mode, almost all the F85 has the smart mode Fuji JZ505 can be done.

In terms of power index: the Fujifilm JZ505's 720mAh rechargeable lithium-ion battery lasts only about 300 shots, but as a large-zoom family camera, we still recommend that users purchase a spare battery to ensure that shooting on the go is more enjoyable.

Finally, in terms of the image quality index we're most concerned about, we found the 14-megapixel digital camera to be very sharp at the wide-angle end, and this advantage was maintained at the telephoto end, where the Fujifilm JZ505's telephoto image quality deterioration was relatively slight. The Fujifilm JZ505 scored a surprisingly high 81 out of 100 when evaluating both sensor and lens quality, showing that this sub-1.5K affordable model has strong image quality as well.

Review of the exterior

The Fujifilm JZ505 has a simple and generous shape, with a smooth and rounded body design that makes it feel good to hold. The control interface on the back of the camera is fast and efficient, with the mode dial and function cross keys working in tandem.

Detail and color tests

For the Picture Quality Index test, we measured the Fujifilm JZ505 sample for detail, color, white balance, dispersion, distortion, and dark corners of the frame, and based on the test data we came up with a final picture quality score. We took the prototype at ISO 100 sensitivity and shot the ISO 12233 resolution test plate in even light to focus on its imaging resolution performance:

Figure: Resolution test plate and 100% slice capture position

Wide-angle resolution:

Figure: Horizontal resolution test at the wide-angle end

Figure: Vertical resolution test at wide-angle end

Resolution at telephoto end:

Picture shows: Horizontal resolution test at telephoto end

Picture shows: Vertical resolution test at telephoto end

The 100% scaled slice shows that JZ505's finest horizontal resolution at the wide-angle end is close to 2180LW/PH, and the vertical resolution is close to 2300LW/PH. As for the 10x telephoto end, we see that the horizontal and vertical resolution of the test sample reached 2100LW/PH and 2000LW/PH respectively. We found that the sharpness of the JZ505 is even at both the wide-angle and telephoto ends, with a slow degree of deterioration, and we can also see obvious in-camera sharpening of the bright edges of the test charts.

The next step is color testing. To analyze the imaging color of the test specimen, we used the test specimen to take a picture of the X-rite ColorChecker SG color test specimen at ISO 100 sensitivity, and then performed a color analysis, which yielded data on imaging color error and white balance error. The white balance error value in the list is the color temperature error of the medium gray block, the closer this value is to zero, the better, if this value is a positive number, it means that the imaging tone is cold, and vice versa for negative numbers. In the color error chart, the squares in the Lab gamut coordinates represent the ideal colors of the subject (standard colors), and the circles represent the imaging colors of the camera under test.

Here are the test images:

From the results of the color test, the Fujifilm Z707's color saturation is at 106.2%, with the overall color area slightly less saturated, and the imaging color style is clear and bright. However, the saturation in the red area is particularly high, forming a distinctive color style. Concerned about the accuracy of its white balance, the warm 43K reading is extremely accurate. the JZ505 does not have a manual white balance adjustment option, and its images are slightly warmer in auto white balance mode.

Noise control and lens quality tests

The Fujifilm JZ505 has five full-pixel sensitivity stops from ISO 100 to ISO 1600. We tested it for noise at different sensitivity stops.

ISO 100

ISO 200

ISO 400

ISO 800

ISO 1600

From the sensitivity slices in the table above, the Fujifilm JZ505 shows noticeable noise at ISO 400 and above, and we rate it as usable at ISO 400 and below.

Sample Photo Appreciation

The Fujifilm JZ505 is equipped with a pet recognition feature, the unique ? Cat Face Recognition? with a unique cat face recognition and a unique dog face recognition. Dog Face Recognition? can help us to prioritize the focus on the pet's face and clear records. on May 15 IT168 and magic time network in the Koodi Pet Paradise carried out a pet test shooting, the following sample is? Crayon Maruko? The following samples are the pet babies captured by students using the Fujifilm JZ505. After the trial we found that the camera's pet recognition mode response is quite high, when the owner and the pet at the same time in the picture when the camera can intelligently recognize the dog's face, and prioritize focus, but the only regret is that the Fuji JZ505's shutter response speed slightly lagging behind the baby pets are always active in the camera to record the front side of the face to turn away. However, netizen trial evaluation, pet recognition is still super fun and interesting.
