Anhui Medical University, referred to as "An Medical University", is located in Hefei, Anhui Province. It is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the National Health and Wellness Commission and the People's Government of Anhui Province, and a provincial key university in Anhui Province.

Anhui Medical University, formerly a private Southeast Medical University founded by 1926 in Shanghai, was renamed Southeast Medical College by 1930. At the end of 1949, Anhui Medical University moved to Huaiyuan, Anhui Province, becoming the first medical college in Anhui Province to respond to the call of the Central East China Bureau.
